Aerial and Pole well being and Mental Health matters 

Aerial and Pole athletes/performers/artists (insert your label here) are different. The science tells us this - from sport science to psychology and beyond. We are a unique bunch who frequent studios that can look like torture chambers to our muggle counter parts. Aerial play grounds for grown ups, kitted out with chrome, steel, ropes, silks and various other apparatus that is sure to bruise and burn our callous and thick skin. So why do we do it to ourselves? In my blog I will be hooking you up with all the research out there which explores us strange and gorgeous creatures. Research which has in turn, inspired me to research the powerful, restorative and transformational powers of Aerial and Pole. I have hooked up with (or kidnapped - I am not sure yet which) Emma Poole @tangledinair to design the first Mental health training for Aerial and Pole Instructors, and soon we hope to expand our mission to invest in the mental health and well being of Aerialists and Polers to include a pilot Aerial and Pole Dance Therapy...
